An era ends in black and gold. On 5 October 2026, adidas released Germany’s 2026 third jersey, known as the “Farewell” kit, at adidas online stores and the DFB store. It is the last jersey adidas makes for the German national team: Nike takes over at the start of 2027, closing a partnership that began in 1954.

adidas has dressed Germany since 1954, the year of the first World Cup title, and the jersey says it in its own words. At the hem, a woven tag reads “Seit 1954 – Partner der deutschen Nationalmannschaft”, since 1954, partner of the German national team, together with “Designed in Herzogenaurach”, the brand’s hometown.
The Trefoil logo and the retro crest take the design back to the classic era of the partnership, and the gold diamonds give it the feel of a final, special edition: one of the last times the three stripes sit on Germany’s sleeves.
The farewell kit is set for the Nations League games in November, the last adidas-era fixtures of the year. It comes weeks after Germany wore the 1990 away remake in Jürgen Klopp’s first game as coach. Read the story: Germany bring back the 1990 away kit.
From the green Retro Away 1990 jersey to the current kits and the other retro classics, you will find them all in the Germany jerseys collection.
