Return Policy & Right of Withdrawal
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This page outlines your rights and explains our return process in accordance with updated European legislation effective June/July 2026.
Your Right of Withdrawal
You have 14 calendar days from the date you receive your shirt to withdraw from the purchase, without providing any reason. This right is guaranteed under European legislation (EU Directive 2023/2673).
How to request a return:
- Go to the "My Orders" section on our website.
- Click the Withdrawal Button next to the order you wish to return.

Complete the mandatory Return Form, providing:
- Order number and date of receipt.
- Reason for return (select from the available options).
- 3 mandatory photographs of the product: (a) front view, (b) back view, and (c) intact labels. Requests without all 3 photographs will be automatically rejected.
- Wait for approval of your request via e-mail (up to 5 business days). Only after approval will you receive the return address and shipping instructions.
If you experience any difficulty with the process, send an e-mail to team@matchday-shop.com including your order number.
Costs: What You Get Back and What You Don't
When exercising your right of withdrawal, you will be refunded the product price and standard shipping costs. However, certain costs are non-refundable:

Deduction for Diminished Value
In accordance with Article 14(2) of Directive 2011/83/EU, you are liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the shirt.
You may try on the shirt briefly (as you would in a physical store), but any use beyond that purpose may result in a proportional deduction from the refund amount:

The assessment is carried out by our inspection team upon receipt and is final.
Refund Without Return (Keep-it)
For accessories valued under € 5 (such as spare buttons or gift packaging), we may process a refund automatically without requiring you to send the item back. This option does not apply to shirts — garments must be physically returned for refund processing.
Required Condition of the Shirt
For your return to be accepted without deductions, the item must meet the following conditions:
- Unworn — the shirt must not have been worn (except for briefly trying it on), washed, ironed, or altered (e.g. tailor adjustments).
- No signs of use — we do not accept items with odours (perfume, sweat) or stains (makeup, deodorant on collar or underarms).
- Labels intact — all original labels (brand and composition) must remain attached.
- Original packaging — the shirt must be returned in its original packaging. If unavailable, use equivalent protective packaging; absence may result in a value deduction.
- Made-to-order or personalised shirts — shirts made to order or featuring exclusive personalisation (e.g. embroidered monograms) cannot be returned, as provided under European legislation.
- Shirts purchased during "Final Sale" promotions — products marked as "Final Sale" or "No Returns" at the time of purchase are not eligible for withdrawal.
Shipping Deadline After Approval
After receiving approval of your return request by e-mail, you have 14 calendar days to dispatch the product. Returns shipped after this deadline will be automatically cancelled and the refund will not be processed.
Return Shipping Guidelines
Until the shirt arrives at our warehouse, responsibility for the shipment lies with you. Therefore:
- Tracking is mandatory. Returns without a tracking number will not be acknowledged as delivered, even if the product eventually reaches the warehouse.
- Where possible, purchase shipping insurance to protect yourself against loss or damage during transit.
- The return address will be provided exclusively in the approval e-mail. Shipments sent to any other address will be disregarded.
